White Medal 'Candleleet' / Arcane North 'The Black Tor' Split 7"
Record/Vinyl + Digital Album
Long awaited split 7″ between two of Northern England’s most dedicated one-man Black Metal projects. From Yorkshire and County Durham respectively, the shared heritage and vast grimness of the region is evident in the music. Arcane North’s “The Black Tor” picks ups where the “Enter The Arcane North” release left off. Almost panic-stricken shrieking accompanied by cavernous battery and mournful, melodic guitars. White Medal’s “Candleleet” was recorded in the same session as both the track from the Ghost Kommando split and the Dommedagssalme split. Expect raw and uncompromising Yorkshire Heathen Black Metal! Limited to 300 copies with double sided glossy fold out covers.

lyrics
The Black Tor
Standing proud and alone
Atop a northern plateau
Swirling and bitter winds
Howl like a thousand wolves
Under a blanket of black and silver
We gather as if a wolven pack
To worship and to honour
The lunar sphere enshrouded in black
High up in the peak of the dale
Terrain is barren and bare
From twilight to the dawning hours
The moor lands bask in the lunar glare
Ceremonial fires are lit
O'er the Pennine path
Rhymes are chanted and tales are told
Celebrating the gods of old
Feel the embrace of the moon once more
The ritual lives on as once before
The call of the heathen inside us all
As we summon together on the black tor
Hear the shrieking howl
Feel the lashing bite
See the barren land
Majestic and grand

I've been a huge fan of this band since hearing 'Campfires', an album which I've played to death! This one is a little different in a way, and it took me sooooo long to get in to, but once it clicked, holy shit did it click. Sea Fire is an absolute banger that evokes sounds of Filosofem era Burzum and Mystifier to my ears...not a bad mix at all. I love 'Ghostly Shores' so much I bought the CD and the Cassette and now I eagerly await whatever comes next from OCR. Skek-Gra
Good live, it's very raw as a real live and not inaudible. Nothing to throw with Thy Dying Light, one of my favorites english BM bands. darkenedspirit (Midgard_OBM)
